My name is Adam Piacente, teaching professional and founder of Marin SAT Prep, a private service that specializes in preparing students for the SAT*.

Adam Piacente, founder of Marin SAT Prep, is a former legal writing professor who has designed academic course materials at two law schools.

In addition to his SAT training guide, SAT Unlocked^TM,

Adam has also authored a number of other instructional texts, including the official launch guide for the lexis.com research service.

One summer, after deciding the time had finally come to transition from law, Adam took a position as a private tutor and tutor trainer with an elite SAT prep company in Marin.

Adam quickly discovered he really enjoyed tutoring students in the SAT, and soon began developing new and more effective methods for teaching the test.

These new methods proved so successful at helping students achieve significantly higher SAT test scores, that Adam started his own SAT tutoring company.

This comprehensive course covers every subject and topic tested on the SAT.

SAT Critical Reading 
Learn an easy and uniquely effective approach to SAT Passage Reading that systematically targets the fundamental reason students most often miss questions.  Students also learn effective strategies for answering even the toughest vocabulary-based questions.

SAT Math 
We cover every math topic tested on the new SAT while discovering how to quickly identify the most efficient solution for each type of question.  Students work progressively from easier to more difficult math questions - building confidence and developing the problem recognition and reasoning skills they need to maximize performance.

SAT Writing Multiple Choice 
Students review all of the grammar rules tested on the new SAT while learning valuable tips for answering each question type.  100+ point improvements on the SAT Writing section alone are not uncommon.

SAT Essay Writing Workshop 
As a former legal writing teacher, it was my job to train students to write clear, persuasive essays under time pressure.  Now I'll show you how to do the same thing on the SAT. It's easy!

SAT Test Taking Strategies 
Students are taught proven SAT test strategies, including special guessing techniques and time management plans for efficiently tackling each subject and section.  Students also learn valuable, day-of-test tips to improve focus and concentration and reduce test fatigue and anxiety.

Can the Marin SAT Prep course really help?
Yes! This course can dramatically improve your SAT score.  The customized learning system is specifically designed to optimize anyone's score regardless of academic level or ability.

Which study materials do you use?
Marin SAT Prep uses only official SAT questions and tests released by the College Board.  Students also receive a printed copy of my 250 page course book, SAT Unlocked, which covers every subject and topic tested on the SAT.

Do you assign homework?
Homework is assigned after every lesson.  Students are also encouraged throughout the course to take 'ownership' of their SAT by practicing independently with the wealth of extra questions provided.

Do you offer practice tests?
Marin SAT Prep offers, at no extra charge, full-length SAT practice tests that simulate day-of-test conditions. Tests are given in cooperation with the San Rafael Public Library and include a detailed diagnostic evaluation for each SAT subject.

Where are lessons taught?
Lessons are taught  in central San Rafael.

Do you train students who request extra time?
Absolutely. In fact, students with special circumstances often benefit even more from this training.

Which SAT Subject tests (SAT II's) do you teach?
US and World History, Literature, and Math I & II.  Please call for details.

Do you train for the ACT?
